Kim Ogg – a short biography

Kim Ogg, a native of Houston, took office as Harris County District Attorney on Jan. 1. She defeated incumbent Devon Anderson in the November General Election.

Ogg, a Democrat, has previously been a chief felony prosecutor for the DA’s office and leader of Houston’s first Anti-Gang Task Force. She also served as executive director of Crime Stoppers and wrote “Texas Gangs: The Legal Handbook,” published by the Texas District and County Attorneys Association.

She is a graduate of the South Texas College of Law and the University of Texas at Austin. Her father, Jack Ogg, is a former state senator and state representative.
