Retired Police Officer Deborah A. Cannon passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the age of 56. She is survived by her husband Duayne Foore. Officer Cannon joined the Houston Police Department on May 7, 1986, Academy Class No. 135. During her career, she was assigned to the Northwest Division, Northeast Division, Jail Division and Robbery Division retiring on June 25, 2005.
COLLINS
Mrs. Mary F. Collins passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at the age of 73. She is the widow of Retired Police Officer Ray L. Collins, who retired on March 11, 2000, and passed away on February 16, 2016; she is also the sister-in-law of Retired Lieutenant Jack E. Collins, who retired on July 30, 1984. Services were held November 17 with burial in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
CURTIS
Mrs. Marilyn Jean Curtis passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017, at the age of 84. She is the mother of Senior Police Officer Barry G. Curtis, assigned to the Office of Public Affairs and Police Officer Brian G. Curtis, assigned to the Gang Division / CRU.
Services were held December 1 with burial in Houston National Cemetery.
ESTRADA
Mr. Alejandro R. Estrada passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at the age of 77. He is the father of Senior Police Officer Adalberto “Al” Estrada, assigned to the Central Division. Services were held December 2 in McKinney.
GIBSON
Mrs. Geraldine “Gerry” Gibson passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the age of 85. She is the grandmother of Police Officer April M. Anderson, assigned to the Northeast Division. Services were held November 11 with burial in Houston National Cemetery.
HENRY
Mrs. Geraline Henry passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the age of 90. She is the mother of retired Lieutenant Joseph Henry, last assigned to the Central Division who retired on March 14, 2015. Services were held November 11 with burial in Paradise North Cemetery.
KROUSE
Retired Police Officer James H. Krouse passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel R. Krouse. He was a veteran f the U.S. Air Force. He joined the Houston Police Department on August 20, 1973, Academy Class No. 61. During his career with the department, Police Officer Krouse was assigned to the Jail Division and the North Division, retiring on January 15, 1994.
Services were held November 21 with burial in Houston National Cemetery.
McNEAL
Mrs. Mardell McNeal passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017. She is the grandmother of Senior Customer Service Clerk Yolanda L. McNeal, assigned to the Records Division. Services were held November 18.
ROBINSON
Reverend Nathaniel Robinson passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the age of 75. He is the father of Senior Police Officer Osa L. Robinson, assigned to the Burglary and Theft Division. Services were held in Newton, Mississippi.
RYAN
Mr. Johnnie Ryan passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the age of 79. He is the father of Customer Service Clerk Cathy A. Richie, assigned to the Auto Dealers Division. Services were held November 25 with burial in Paradise North Cemetery.
SALINAS
Mrs. Emilia L. Salinas passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017. She is the mother of Mobility Service Officer Jorge L. Salinas, assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Division. Services were held November 25.
TREVINO
Retired Police Officer Ross C. Trevino passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the age of 68. He joined the Houston Police Department on August 26, 1968, Academy Class No. 39. During his career with the department, he was assigned to the Southwest Division, Records Division, Traffic and Accident Division, and Burglary and Theft Division. Police Officer Trevino retired on January 28, 1995. Services were held November 21 with burial in Forest Park Lawndale.
TURNER
Retired Detective Billy S. Turner passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife Zelda L. Turner. He joined the Houston Police Department on April 3, 1950, Academy Class No. 4. Detective Turner retired on March 2, 1978 from the Burglary and Theft Division. Services were held November 22 with burial in Robertson County, Texas.
VEGA
Mr. Jose Armando Vega Sr. passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the age of 91. He is the father of Sergeant David Vega, assigned to the Eastside Division. Services were held November 28 in Manvel.
