Assist the Officer Foundation board members couldn’t decide what to do next for their next fundraiser, so they decided to do it all.
On Oct. 6 from noon to 6 p.m. ATO will hold the first Coptober Fest / Chili cookoff / Jeep Showoff.
Sept. 28 is national beer drinking day. ATO wants to help you celebrate a week later by featuring 12 craft breweries from the Houston area to establish the favorite craft beer of Houston police officers.
After tasting samples from the various breweries, you will be able to vote on your favorite. At the end of the day we will award the first Blue Stein Award to the brewery receiving the most votes.
If you have a passion for craft beer and have a relationship with a brewery, have its representative contact us to participate. We still have a few open slots in the contest.
Cook teams or individuals who have that special recipe for chili or one pot come on out and put it to the test. At the end of the day you could be tagged as the favorite of the HPD.
If you drive a vehicle with sticker stating, Go Topless, 4X4 Life, Look Pretty Play Dirty, Buckle up I want to try something or something similar you probably drive a Jeep. This day will also include a Jeep Showoff with awards given for Best Mall Crawler, Judges Choice and Best Modified.
The day will include live music and food trucks.
There is a limit to the number of Jeeps and chili cookoff teams that can participate, so get your entry in early.
Chili / One Pot entry fee is $100 for a 10-square-foot space. Additional rules and information are available online or with the event lead. Entry fee is $20 per Jeep. Additional information is also available on line or event lead.
