The HPD Calf Scramble Posse – out in full force again this rodeo season – put together another dynamite year at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, herding through more than 600 calf scramblers from throughout the Greater Houston area.

Two of the scrambler collared calves that were sponsored by the Houston Police Officers Union.

Posse member Doug Griffith, HPOU 1st vice president when he’s not out there herding, identified HPOU’s calf scramblers as Emory Marsh and Mackinzie Grimes. “Both Emory and Mackinzie are outstanding young people who have a passion for FFA and their animals,” Griffith said. “Emory has shown before and been an award recipient at the Houston Rodeo in the past.”

The Posse also sponsored a hard-luck calf last year for a great young lady by the name of Madison Kreger from Cypress Park FFA.  Madison did very well in this year’s competition, earning a second place on breed and fourth in showmanship.

“The Posse wants to extend a hearty congratulations to all of our scramble participants
