Ever present to help HPD officers in need, Assist the Officer was able to provide $62,500 to officers suffering from home or vehicle damage from Tropical Storm Imelda.

And the story doesn’t stop there.

HPOU was able to provide $9,500 to officers who lost or suffered from personal vehicle damage as a result of the storm.

The National Fraternal Order of Police awarded up to $500 to officers that qualified for the FOP’s Disaster Relief program.

There were 41 applicants total for both home and/or car damage filed by HPD officers.

It was incredibly heartbreaking because a lot of the names were familiar from Hurricane Harvey and the flood in Kingwood at the beginning of 2019.
