Retired Administrative Supervisor Laura Sue Clampitte passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016. She is the wife of 31 years of Retired Police Officer J. Weldon Clampitte. Mrs. Clampitte joined the department in 1975 and retired while last assigned to the Budget and Finance Department in 1998. She is also survived by daughters, Laurie Schumpert, Lisa Newhouse, Cheryl McLean and Terry Clampitte. Services were held March 2 with burial in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

Retired Police Officer Roland Elmore English passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife Barbara English. Police Officer English joined the Houston Police Department on November 21, 1955, Academy Class No. 13. He retired on November 16, 1983. Reverend John D. Fritz, 86, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016. He is the father of Senior Police Officer John M. Fritz (PD-C), and grandfather of Police Officer Kimberley Hendrick, assigned to the Westside Command. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eunice Fritz R.N., and eight children. Reverend Fritz served as a parish pastor, seminary professor and missionary. Services were held March 19.

Donna Gann passed away on February 28, 2016. She is the wife of Retired Police Officer Michael Gann and mother of Bryan Gann. Services were held March 3 in Conroe.

Retired Senior Police Officer Raymond V. Garcia passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gloria A. Garcia. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He joined the Houston Police Department on June 1, 1959, Academy Class No. 21. During his career with the Houston Police Department, he was assigned to the Central Division and Traffic Enforcement Division / SOLO Motorcycle Detail. Senior Police Officer Raymond V. Garcia retired on January 25, 2002, while assigned to the Special Operations Division.
Services were held April 2 with burial in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

She is the sister of Retired Police Officer Zigmond E. “Zeke” Kominczak, who retired in 1994, while last assigned to the Special Operations Division. She is also the Aunt and Godmother of Senior Police Officer Dara L. Zoretic, assigned to the North Division, who is married to Senior Police Officer David P. Mr. Ernest Lewis Kubosh, 101, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. He was a veteran of the United States Navy Seabees. Mr. Kubosh is one of the oldest living survivors of the battle of Iwo Jima during World War II, earning the Purple Heart for his wounds. He is the father-in-law of Senior Police Officer William M. “Bo” Hargrove, assigned to the Employee Services Division. Services were held March 19 with burial in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.

Retired Police Officer Ruby Mae Stone passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the age of 82. She joined the Houston Police Department on October 1, 1956, Academy Class No. 15. Police Officer Ruby Mae Stone was assigned to the Juvenile Division and to the Jail Division until she retired on September 29, 1978. She was preceded in death by her husband, Retired Police Officer Clarence V. Stone, who passed away on March 15, 1998. She is survived by her daughter Glenda Cummins and son James Stone. Retired Senior Police Officer Jerry M. Strait passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the age of 66. He is survived by his wife Ginger Strait. He joined the Houston Police Department on November 16, 1970, Academy Class No. 47. During his career he was assigned to the Northeast Division and the Air Support Division. Senior Police Officer Strait retired on May 8, 2004. Services were held March 25 with burial in Resthaven Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Lorene “Skeets” Matthews Stuckey, 91, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016. She is the mother of Lorena Mae Johnson, who is the surviving spouse of Police Chief Bradley K. Johnson, who passed away on June 7, 2015. Services were held February 24 with burial in Leggett.

Retired Senior Police Officer Tonya Reyna Wilson passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at the age of 50. She joined the Houston Police Department on March 4, 1985, Academy Class No. 127. Senior Police Officer Tonya R. Wilson retired on March 3, 2012, while assigned to the Robbery Division. She was re-hired by the Houston Police Department as a Senior Clerk on September 21, 2015, assigned to the Robbery Division. Services were held March 17.
WRIGHT
Retired Senior Police Officer Jerry L. Wright passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the age of 68. He is survived by his wife Margaret Wright. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Senior Police Officer Wright joined the ranks of the Houston Police Department on January 24, 1972, Academy Class No. 53. He resigned his position with the Houston Police Department on October 29, 1982, to join the Crocket Police Department, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Houston County District Attorneys Office. Senior Police Officer Wright came back to be a part of the Houston Police Department family on October 19, 1992, Class No. L292. He retired on July 31, 2004, while assigned to the Homicide Division. Services were held March 15 in Kennard, Texas with burial in San Augustine County.
