Hurricane Harvey left an untold number of disappointments and tragedies in its wake. Now the HPOU/First Responders Benefit Trust Family Picnic must be added to that seemingly endless list.
Harvey inflicted enough damage to the traditional picnic venue, the Farm and Ranch Club, 1 Abercrombie Dr. to prompt the postponement decision by the Union Board of Directors.
Instead, the board members will focus on its members as many of them rebuild their homes and properties severely affected by the historic flood waters.
The Family Picnic will return in 2018 as the Union’s most popular family-oriented event of any given year.
In what was many hours of hard work by your HPOU Family Picnic Committee, this year’s event had beenscheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17.
Here are this year’s HPOU/FRB Family Picnic committee members:
Colton Peverill, Doug Griffith, Joe Gamaldi, Tom Hayes, Luis Menendez-Sierra,
Bill Booth, David Riggs, Chad Crawford, Tim Butler, Brad Craig, Paul Ogden and Mike Mitchell.
