OPENING

Douglas Griffith called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

TREASURER’S REPORT

The motion to accept the treasury report was made by Ken Nealy, second by Art Mejia, motion carried. The report is on the table and available upon request to Tim Butler.

 

COMMUNICATIONS

Scholarship breakfast was huge success, thank you Rhonda Williams.

Vidal Lopez benefit tomorrow, May 5th.

Austin bill for DROP.  Low chance of passing but in support.  HPOPS there for all pension questions.

Cops vs. Street racers presentation with Randy Seals from Christian Dorton.

Police Memorial Service tomorrow evening, May 5th.

Officers in crisis, how can we help? Tell people about the problem. City policy needs to change.  Resources are there but do not need about everything and need to know about things.

Shut down rumors and get the truth out.

Holiday schedules and CST shift adjustments coming, but policy not out yet.

New updated to the PAT, row machine available.

New policy by DA office for drug charges.  It is to help keep charges with testing, judges not DA.

ATO has on going fundraiser by using Amazon Smile for ATO.  Golf tournament in October.

Family leave is now active but there are still a lot of questions and HPOU is trying to get answers from the city.  Many people off currently, 300+.  City will be updating policy shortly.

Remember to sign up for Online ID protection at the 3rd floor.
